Comparison of Tourist Destination between Switzerland and Japan

Switzerland’s most visited tourist destinations :

1. Lucerne

An hours distance from the south of Basle and Zürich, and spectacular mountain views and lake cruises, LUZERN (Lucerne in French and English, Lucerna in Italian) has been one of the Europe's most heavily visited tourist places. Its popularity dates back to the year 1868 when Queen Victoria came for a long holiday in August 1868. A century old steady growth has resulted in the tourist traffic of five millions visiting Lucerne every year. Tourism is the leading source of income, yet the city has been able to retain its charm at all costs.

2. Zurich

Zurich is very famous as the cleanest and most calm and efficient city in Europe. One of the biggest towns of Europe and Switzerland, visiting Zürich gives you a feel at home element where you can finally walk on crowded, multi-ethnic streets, buy a kebab, get a drink after midnight, feel a lived in urban buzz. In the last two years the art and culture in the city has progressed by leaps and bounds, expressing itself in the most tangible form in a host of clubs and a thriving underground dance scene. Once a stereotype, Zurich no longer conveys the traditional essence. The city has now attained a dynamic hue characterized by an exciting city.

3. Geneva Jet D’eau

The Geneva Jet D’eau is a huge fountain in Geneva, Switzerland, and is one of the city’s most renowned landmarks. It is one of the tallest fountains in the world, bulging water up to 140 meters high. Constructed in 1891, it is regarded as one of the symbols of the city of Geneva. It was used as a secure regulator for a hydraulic power network and could reach a height of about 98 feet. In 1891, its beautiful significance was recognized and it was moved to its present position to commemorate the Federal Gymnastics Festival and the 600th anniversary of the Swiss Confederation, on which occurrence it was activated for the first time.

4. Interlaken

Located on lakeside, with a dominance of German-speaking populace in Switzerland, Interlaken offers the winter sport buffs, access to some of the most spectacular skiing in the Alps. Traditionally a 'Summer' resort, Interlaken attracts the winter sports enthusiasts on account of its prime location. Interlaken is known for its healthy climate, as well as the spectacular views. Its excellent hotels and other facilities at reasonable rates during the winter make it an ideal haven for the tourists. Its status became 'official' with the launch of the The Jungfrau Top Ski Region, containing more than 160 Km (100 miles) of trails in ski centers above Grindelwald, all linked to Interlaken by a mountain railway included in a ski pass. The average length of runs in the area is a remarkable six - 12 KM (four - nine miles). With the pass, it has become possible to ski a different ski area every day for a week.

5. The Swiss Alps

The Alps cover three-fifths of the Swiss territory, making Switzerland the second most Alpine country after Austria, where the proportion reaches two-thirds. Setting aside that part of Graubunden which lies to the east of the Hinterrhein Valley - a high valley like the Engadin, which, with its extra-continental climate, is more typical of central Europe - the Swiss Alps, like the French ones, belong to the western Alpine group, that is, to the steepest and most contorted chain.
The best way of seeing the Swiss alps is with one of the scenic trains that frequent the main alpine destinations in Switzerland.

Japan’s most visited tourist destinations :

1. Harajuku, Tokyo

Harajuku is the central part of one of the most extreme teenage cultures in Japan. Apart from teenagers, the Harajuku offers shopping for people of different age. In addition, it features a number of historic sights. The most attractive point is believed to be Takeshita Dori (Takeshita Street) along with its side streets arranged by numerous fashion shops, boutiques, clothes stores and fast food outlets.

2. Asakusa, Tokyo

It is one of the few districts of Japan's capital that has maintained the tone of the old Tokyo. The main attraction of Asakusa is Sensoji, a popular Buddhist temple, constructed in the 7th century. The shopping street that leads to the temple is where people can buy different traditional, local snacks, as well as various souvenirs.
Asakusa has been the main entertainment district of Tokyo for a number of centuries. It is worth mentioning that throughout the Edo Period Asakusa was situated outside Toyo's limits. At that time it was the site of kabuki theatres and a popular red light district. At the end of the 19th century and the beginning of 20th century a lot of modern entertainments, such as movies, started developing in the district.

3. Shibuya, Tokyo

This is a district of Japan's capital that is often referred to a shopping and entertainment area, being located around Shibuya Station. The ward is one of the most colorful and busy places within Tokyo. Shibuya is the birthplace of many Japan's most popular fashion and entertainment brands. There are two main rivals that compete for the largest department and fashion store in the district; these are Tokyu and Seibu corporations.

4. Ginza, Tokyo

This is the most prestigious districts in Tokyo in terms of shopping, dining and entertainment. It includes a huge number of department stores, art galleries, restaurants and night clubs. The land here is extremely expensive, for instance a square meter is worth over 10 million yen, which is about $100,000. In Ginza one may find all of the world's leading fashion and cosmetics brand names.
The most suitable time to pay a visit to the district is during a weekend afternoon. This is the time when the central Chuo Dori closes to traffic and turns into a large zone for pedestrians.

5. Kyoto

In the period between 794 and 1868 Kyoto was the capital of Japan and served as the residence of the emperor. Currently it is the seventh largest city in Japan with a population exceeding 1.4 million. The city suffered from many wars and fires. However, because of its historic importance it was not chosen to be the target of an atomic bomb. In addition it was not bombed during the air raids that occurred during the Second World War. Today the city houses numerous temples, shrines and many other historically important constructions. It is probably the second most popular tourist destination in Japan after Tokyo.

The Conclusion :
based on explanation above, both country has a gorgeous tourist destination, but Switzerland and Japan has a different type of tourist destination. Switzerland more greener and environmental friendly than Japan, most of tourist destination in Switzerland are nature tourism. but, Japan more advance technology than Switzerland, and the most of tourist destination are culture tourism. Japan is richer in Culture and Switzerland richer in nature scenery.

now, you can decide what the better tourist destination between Japan and Switzerland, right ?

i think it depends on you, every people has a different opinion

TAMAN NASIONAL BATANG GADIS

 TAMAN NASIONAL BATANG GADIS

Fungsi Kawasan Taman Nasional Batang Gadis

Sejarah Pembentukan Taman Nasional Batang Gadis

Keaneka Ragaman Hayati
